I find it a little weird. Who´s sending these mails about Balázs?
Send me a post, if you have also got this mail and know what all this is about!
(Edit: Just called a few old sceners, and I see, they also got this mail! So seems quite many from CSDb, has got it! Hmm..)

I wish it was true Balazs spread his fake-death, he was a real cool friend and Chromance was the group I enjoyed the very most.
Most other groups (especially Germans) had a major lack of organization and bunch of idiots in their groups.
Mr.Wax, Jazzy D and most of the other Chromancer's were also interesting persons in the so-called "real life"
If (IF!) it was Wanderer to spread such stuff, why would he do such crap?
Wondering. |

Well, Wanderer still *trolls* around here (uploading his recracks), maybe he can write something about all these emails and his investigation. |

I haven't ventured into the forums for a month or so until tonight.
With a cautioning from Perff not to cause mayhem, I'm going to make a SINGLE post about both these matters and then leave the forum again.
I've no interest in turning either matter into a debate or opening up any lines of communication. I don't care who says what, or who thinks what about either matter. Add your two cents on if you feel compelled, but I am not coming back to debate any of this.
First : RE-CRACKING/TROLLING
I have received nothing but praise on Gamebase, Lemon64 and CSDB from other sceners who have thanked me for taking games that crashed or had bug issues and then fixing them. A few concerns here and there about bugs in a few of them, but for the most part some really good quality releases. I pride myself especially on Guerilla War which nobody had fixed to load the levels, Tit Bit with the bugged sprites, Under the Ground which crashed, and also Slug which was bugged right from the original. You couldn't even finish Slug until I patched it up.
One clueless person has suggested this is all being done to troll. Yet looking around I see nothing but positive encouragement from gamers who appreciate this work. Am I really trying to troll by making 100% versions of bugged games? Adding in high score savers, loading pics and doing documentations? That's an awful lot of work to do for a troll and giving a quality game at the same time :)
What's the issue? Re-cracking. To me that term means removing an intro, releasing something as your own. That's how it was used in the old days. Yet when I use someone elses crack, I *never* call it a crack. CSDB categorizes it as a crack but I put in my scroll-text who cracked it, who trained it and who level packed it. In cases where I have enough memory, I also throw on the cracker's original intro.
So you tell me this... if you load up a game such as Slug, you see my intro crediting Elite, you see Elite's intro, and you see a game that works 100% with a high score saver... can you find ANYTHING in there that constitutes a troll? Or are some people just clueless.
Sure, sometimes I don't put the crackers intro on the program but I mention who cracked it. And the reason I don't do it from an original is... *drum roll* I can't find the originals. If I can find one, I'll use it but more often than not, Gamebase carries only cracked versions in their bugged lists. Romreactor, tapes.c64.no and pokefinder don't offer up the originals I am looking for. In the case of Slug, I used Elite's version as they said they fixed up the original bugs and I wanted to use theirs.
In the end, I only care about one thing. A version that works up until the end of the game. If I can't do it from original, I'll use a cracked version and credit the group. I never pass it off as my own.
If you seriously think that this is somehow "trolling", you probably need to re-examine how you perceive things.
This isn't up for discussion. |
