What's you favorite?
A number of times I've been surprised when listening to tunes that for some or the other reason have been suggested for listening by other users of this forum. I thought that some of you would like to share some of your favourites with the rest of us. It could probably broughten our horizons and at least let people hear some tunes that haven't gotten the attention they disserve. Anyone up for it? |

I personally like Fanta's older work better, in which he was primarily concerned with a simple, catchy melody.. I, ubernoob, personally think that that is his strength.. |

I listened today to Hithouse's Going On.sid, it's so brilliant and this guy such an excellent composer, unluckily he just did around 20 tunes.
Laxity: it's find, found, found 8) but you probably know that.
Clarence: you're probably right. I just recently discovered Gloria, put it in Deliplayer to pump up the bass and some tones and wow... I enjoyed it for hours.
and yeah, Shogoon rules, e.g. his Bilinski.sid tune |

Agree... Almost all of my favorite SIDs are simple, catchy tunes. Unfortunately it seems that the fashion nowadays is more towards advanced and experimental stuff, and that only rarely results in a very good end product. |

Quote: ah. it's one of these newer tunes, isnt it? I wonder why all those newer tunes have to sound like Mitch&Dane.
And I wonder why of all those newer tunes have to sound like Jeff. |

Dwayne Bakewell, \VARIOUS\A-F\Bakewell_Dwayne
I loved Depression, Supremacy (the JT cover), Freezing_12, Latin_Dance, Style_plus, Overdrive (who can forget seeing the new Domination outfit and hearing that?), Skunkjazz, Summer_Heat (I loved tweaking it in DMC4 too),
I'm a great fan of many works by DJB - even his older DMC 4 works. He motivated me to make music. Not enough Aussies on the world stage making C64 music :) Listen to his Style Plus. Run through Dwayne Bakewell's directory in various :) Also when working on Speed I couldn't not play Freezing_12 while working :)
I actually tried to style some of my earlier stuff around ideas I got from Dwayne.
Tim Kleinert's directory has a lot of gems. Something about his style I love, especially later in Graphixmania_2_part_3 followed by the classic 2 parts with samples.
From Fuben I love Gavelion, Gettin_Jazzy and 4_Years_The_End (after hearing this I wanted to hear more Fuben stuff).
From Maduplec I love Dodger_part_3 - nothing special but I'm hooked on it.
MHD - Constellation_Betha, Destruction (I wish he made much more than he did).
My fav Dane tune is Blowtorch. I still picture the demo part with AEG code where I first heard it.
Red Devil's cover that is called For_Avantgarde
VARIOUS\S-Z\Schutten_Martijn - Legend_Intro - after hearing that you start thinking what is the magic in the player that Falco Paul created.
From Guy Shavitt - Immortal_Flash_2, Shavitt_06 and Digital_Madness_Intro
SMC - Veritable_4
The_Syndrom - La_Musica (I would love to hear more smooth tunes like it) and 4_Speed_Notetune and Quattrodance
I could add a few hundred more now I think of it :)
