That reminds me. Many years ago, I remember walking around Portobello market, London one Saturday. The market is best described as a market set in a long street. There’s a lot for sale, both new, old, sometimes collectable, including antiques. There’s usually many people there. It is where the Notting Hill Carnival takes place, not that I’ve ever been to that. Back then I was into buying audio tapes, and stumbled across a tape, with an Ocean label on it. What was different about the tape was that face that it featured an Ocean label, although the name of the game was written in ink. It said Rambo. I paid about £1 for this tape, as I was curious to see what machine it was for, and the fact that Rambo had not been released at that point. It failed to load on the Commodore 64, so I tried it on my ZX Spectrum, and it loaded! It turned out to be a static screen showing how the game looked. It showed the bland looking play area, and the score area. How it ended up on a market stall among junk remains a mystery. All I could think of was, maybe it had been sent to a magazine, Crash for example, so they could print it as a preview.

Dear sweetsugamomma,

Have you considered dumping the contents of this disk before selling it? It would be a real shame if this ended up in the hands of a collector and not shared with the C64 community.

Dear heavystylus,

Hi,

Yes I have and there is no way I can do it as I do not have a working C64 or a Disk drive!

Regards

haha - yes, sweetsugamomma apparently worked at The Edge...!

Emailed Frank Gasking:

I'm hoping one of the collectors I know will win it and avoid a bidding war. There was a bit of frantic emailing around collectors to ensure we don't outbid each other and get one person to bid :-)

Fingers crossed we'll get it! :-)

It doesn't help exactly that it is mentioned in this thread to begin with.

Anyway, hopefully whoever wins it can get it to work.
