WANTED: Someone to convert ANSI to PETSCII

Howdy.

I have commissioned some BBS screens in ANSI format that are simply amazing. Unfortunately, the artist doesn't know anything about doing PETSCII.

I am willing to pay to have these screens converted from ANSI to PETSCII. The graphics are not heavily shaded nor full of dual-color cells.

The URL to the graphics is:

https://drive.google.com/open?id=0By1chBa0OtQpVzhNdlNvYXJJbHBfQ..

If you're interested in the job, please PM me with a price and when you could have it done.

I found an AWESOME tool for Windows simply called "PETSCII" that provides a really good editor with the ability to output a C file. I've updated my PetsciiToSeq tool to allow input of the C file as a source and write it to SEQ and vice-versa.

Pressing Q in the editor should create a SEQ directly. It's almost untested, though, and might not work with lowercase.

Yeah, I tried that and the results were less than optimal. Plus, it cannot read an existing SEQ file, which is pretty vital for modifying your existing works.

Posting again after GOTO80 – http://vectorpoem.com/playscii/ kinda neat cross platform editor. It has one very handy feature (that all other editors are lacking) – press SPACE to show the character menu :)

It will also allow you to mix glyphs from the uppercase and lowercase CBM character set, and thereby result in a screen of utter nonsense.

Well, you can whine, or you can take action Seven ;-)
I've contacted the author and here's what I got:

I'd forgotten that the "c64_petscii" set was not in fact the same layout as a real C64! Just pushed this:
https://bitbucket.org/JPLeBreton/playscii/commits/e5de4975ee834..

You should be able to drop those 4 files into your Documents\Playscii\charsets\ folder and use them until v0.9.8 where they'll be built-in...

Hope it helps!

Not whining, just stating a fact.

I ran into that editor because most of the screens in Galza-23: Propaganda (C64 Edition) were originally created with it, but since neither Otium nor I have used it since I didn't care enough as it is rather obvious that the editor's primary goal is NOT to create retro hardware compatible screens.
