Chromance: busted?
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/4761768.stm
quote:
The groups - with names such as Apocalypse Crew and Chromance - acquired digital copies of songs and albums before they were commercially released in the US and posted them to the internet. |

no, same group, Mr.Wax (rip, http://www.scs-trc.net/forbalazs/index.shtml) set up the mp3 dept years ago, not sure how many or which other old 64-chr members were active in the mp3 spinoff though. |

Right you are. I didn't think CHR had any off shoot groups. Yet another blow to CHR.
I remember every time I'd receive a letter from Balazs he was always so cheerful and full of life, talking about how beautiful his country was and about the girls :)
Besides Mr. Wax, maybe some day a site will be set up for sceners who have passed away. |

I was thinking of doing that on the Recollection website. Maybe someone can do a graphic for me that would be suitable for such a page.

sounds good, and I always thought the balazs page (http://www.scs-trc.net/forbalazs/index.shtml) looked really appropriate, dunno who did the gfx though, but cba will know, if he didnt do em himself. |

Lion told me that they were doing bizz in the mp3 scene, that was around ~97. I think its the same group. (and what a sad change from cracking to stupid mp3 uploading) |

CHR was not doing "stupid" Mp3 uploads, CHR were one of the biggest teams in the Mp3 Scene. Compare it to FLT, Eaglesoft or G*P.
CHR has been a dead group since Mr Wax died and was reformed into another crew, partly with the same members involved, yet not as successful. Kind proves how much Mr Wax really did mean to the crew aswell as how big player he really was on the Mp3-scene.
Still, things like this is happening quite often in the scene and it was bound to happend sooner or later.
Wish the ones involved good luck. Still no info on Tristans involvement in this tho.

Tazan, for me doing mp3 warez is not that hot... It's like cracking, but only the supplyer side is there, cracking needs some intellectual activity too.
Tho, I whish aswell luck to the ones involved. |

Well his name is listed in the article, so Tristan is involved.

Nisse; I know, yet, I meant further information :)
And Oswald; I guess its only a matter of interest if you like music or not, the Mp3 scene is nice, and at the same time, a bore. The C64 scene did start it all, and it shows. This is where theres a community among the machine. Cant say I saw that on other platforms. |
