Music & SFX player
Hi all,
Is it possible to play sid tunes and (when needed) sfx with the same player within a program? If so, what's the most suitable music/sfx editor to use? |

One option is GoatTracker, see section 5.1 in the readme:

Goat Tracker is splendid for music but for sfx, well... ;) |

What Jammer said; The possibilities when creating sfx in Goat is unfortunately very sparse. But usually fine enough for standard sfx stuff.
Goat is quite nice regarding voice allocation: when playing a sfx, one channel will be 'interrupted' and continues playing music when the sfx has finished.
Goat also let's you manage sfx priority, so sfx of lesser importance can be interrupted by more important sfx. |

If you can stomach the even more limited featureset, NinjaTracker V2.0x has the player source easily modifiable so you could improve the sound FX player (unmodified, it has exactly same capabilities as GoatTracker.)
Plus for games, you can load "music modules" into the same memory area while storing the player code only once, so you save diskspace. |

What about Hermit's SID-Wizard? |
