it shows full border but doesn't autostart the .d64, just sticks in basic with disk image mounted. reproes with all .d64/.prg files i've tried. |

LOL it actually works with x64sc, but not with x64
so there is the solution, and what you should do anyway: use x64sc |

I want faster warp and not burn my laptop. The accuracy of x64 is pretty adequate for lots of situations, just have to remember to try with real c64/x64sc once in a while.
I'm happy it can be still enabled from the build settings. |

I would'nt trust it these days - its basically untested for almost a decade and receives no fixes anymore. |

Why does x64 still exist if unsupported for 10 years? Surely makes sense to remove it and tidy the codebase..? Unless there’s something it does that X64SC doesn’t? (Or does more slowly?) |

idk. I still used vice 2.4 x64 until a month or so ago, and didn't really have any problems with it. Everything I programmed with it worked flawlessly (or had similar bugs) on a real C=. Of course it would be nice to use more accurate emulator to be sure, but the speed difference between x64/x64sc is real, and that matters too.
I'd say the program seems finished if anything :p |

Quote:Why does x64 still exist
Because of retroarch and raspi setups. Once those things are powerful enough to run x64sc perfectly it will get wiped from the codebase.
That said, it is not build by default and not included in the binary releases for a long time now. If you choose to build it yourself and enable x64 it's entirely your fault :) |

well it's still a bug in the software. but yeah just using sc is a good workaround. :D thanks |
