Off topic, or am I?
Hey everyone..
A few things I've been very curious about and would appreciate some honest answers.
I've "finally" started to work on my website and someone suggested to me that having "my" demos play online would be fantastic, instead of having to install an emulator to view it. I also think it's a great idea, but unsure how to go about it. I know I could simply make TONS of video files, but to be honest, I've done a lot of freakin' demos, hahaha. Is there any way to play a .prg or .d64 file using html, or something similar (like java or active x)?
Also, would there be an easy way to play a sid file while viewing the website?
I'm willing to let anybody who wants to design it for me, hahaha.
By far, I'm not into HTML at all. More into the IT Networking and repairs, so this is all new to me.
Please be gentle :)
ps. You can see my current work on the site, in my profile. |

A member of my group did exactly what you wanted: embed a Java emu on his website and enable the user to load from various D64 files.
Is kind of works, but the emu isn't very compatible in the VIC department... so some graphic effects don't look the way they're supposed to.
Krill's idea is better. |

embedding java is at least a very efficient way of not getting that much traffic on your website. Most visitors run away after waiting for ever to finish loading of the applet. |

It's actually rather quick on his site.
Can't remember the URL, otherwise I'd give it to you. |

for SIDs as background music, you can use SIDplug, although I recommend you also have a mute button, because not everyone appreciates it...

Hi Phantom
There may be another option although I've never tried this myself but I think theoretically it may be possible..
you could try using osa kit pro with vice or ccs64 to run your demo's , its worth looking at anyway :)
