Information about windows sidplay2 dll/programming

At the moment i'm not quite happy about all those sid players for windows out there. Some GUIs are unbearable, others lack i.e. support for song lengths, others don't allow queueing/playlists.. Looking at the mac, there's such a pretty player, but windows?

So i looked around, but couldn't find reasonable information about how to (ab)use the lidsidplay with i.e. delphi to build a decent GUI around it.

The Java sidplay is pretty nice to look at, but alwasys fucks up on my Laptop. Sad, as it has a quite nice looks to it. So, there seems to be a possibility to not (mis)use sidplay but to directly access the DLL?

And yes i'm talking windows here, not linux, not mac or such.

Help very much appreciated.... :)

Even on windows GPL software is compilable. Just use and link resid. It's VERY easy to hook it up to any sound API of your choice.

For optimum sound quality i'd prefer the sidplay2.5 lib as for me it sounds best. haven't delved into resid yet, will give it a go i guess.

And i have to admit i'm not really familiar with C++ and compiling and such, i'm so a stupid Delphi noob, you know.. (the land of RAD and less hassle with compileissues..) ;)
