Smooth movement in Vice
Hi all,
Fooling around with KickAss ... now, I am wondering if there is anything I can do about the stuttering of all things moving in Vice. Take for example a simple scroller will stutter at every 8th frame or so. My PC has plenty of power, so I am guessing it has something to do with synching the signal with my monitor??? I haven't been able to google an answer, so I'm hoping somebody in here can guide me?

You obviously need to run your monitor at a scan rate which is a multiple of 50 Hz.
TFTs for computer use commonly only run 60 Hz.
Try switching to NTSC and you'll see that it's fairly smooth. |

or set emulation speed to 120% which works pretty well too.
(especially for interlaced stuff) |

how will that affect my code when I run it on a real PAL c64?
Looks like the 120% speed setting was the best of the suggested options. I can now see some tearing on full screen effects and some stuttering in general but it is a LOT better than it was before.
