Release id #119923 : SID Known V1.06

Are there any SIDKnown command line options to find music in .PRGs relocated to other memory areas than in HVSC?

Example:
HVSC $1000
.PRG $5000

Or should I first make it a .SID file?

it doesn't matter at which address is relocated, it would make the tool almost useless if it only ids tunes that are exactly as the ones in HVSC, but yes, if the prg isn't an executable that actually plays the tune, make a sid of it, with prg2sid maybe.

It doesn't matter if the music player is relocated to another location than the one in HVSC. SIDKnown doesn't check the player code, it checks only the SID input data and/or the music data in memory.

For finding music in PRG files, always use the -b option for binary searches. You can use the -m option for e.g. one file demos to search in all the parts of the demo.
Make sure you always check if the found SID is correct when using sidknown on PRG files. If the SID tune isn't found or wrongly identified, always convert the tune to a SID file and then check again with SIDKnown.

Using sidknown on PRG files can lead to false positives because the program can initialize/write to the SID first before the player is called or the unpacker writes to $D418 before the tune starts. Therefore it is better to convert the tune to a SID file and then run sidknown on the SID itself.
