Release id #172060 : Blue Bastards from Outer Space
I'm trying to run this on WinVice 3.1
I've started the x128 emulator, changed the drive settings to 1581, then ran the 'autostart'.
It boots up to where "CP/M 3.0 On the Commodore 128 28 May 87
40 column display
R A00 07"
is shown.
The only key it responds to is F8, showing PAUSE at the bottom until I press ENTER.

Just tried it with vice 3.3 on Win 7
The "40 col" window is just showing a yellowish color, but using the vice edit-copy is capturing :
A>conf 40col=off,baud=75,char=15,cursor=
A>loadcgf ibm alt
Load CGF 1.0 (C) 1992 Steve Goldsmith
C128 CP/M version 11/29/92
Reading IBM.CGF...

I know it runs on GTK VICE 3.2 .. though sometimes it hangs, and I can't say if it runs great or not since I haven't gone deep into the game.
Remember, this is an 80 column game, so you can't have CP/M thinking about 40cols VIC-II. So the key to running this game is having CP/M boot with "80 columns" in its head. =)
Best way is to get CP/M to bootup from 80 column VDC startup init in basic 7, aka with the 80col switch set. Make sure you have x128 running with virtual 40/80 key in the 80 col position @ VICE when you restart/start vice.
I am told you can do this easily by starting x128 with -80col on command line.
Once you are at the A> prompt .. type BLUE or BLUE.COM and hit return. That should do it !
Cheers !
PS: if you boot with THIS cp/m variant --
ZPM3 BootDisk V6.2b for 16M REU
... you should not have any 40cols troubles at all, because 40column action has been removed from it ! =)

" -80col on command line." was the solution !
