Event id #1381 : C64.sk Cover Compo #1 (running!)
I know this sounds like useless whining but I find it strange that theres just .sid files available for the entries which is mostly emulator format.
So, would it be possible to have entries as .prg as well?

If author info wasn't hidden, these prgs would of been done before you know it. |

you may know that im against pr-usage of csdb
that was mainly based on imo wrong release dates
but in this case i think its ok to rename an event to show, its active, this will ( hopefully ;) ) be changed back to normal when its over and so it is good...
let's wait for perff to fix in a '(running!)' if an event is happening in this moment just as (future!) etc which should not be shown anywhere but in selected contexts, you dont want this 'future' to appear in the upcoming events, do you!? ;)
so we can skip this abuse in the future by achieving the same result! :-) |

I had to add "running!" because all of suddend files started to appear in the compo entries list and I had to (somehow) identify that it is not the final list. Also I think it's good idea for any online compo (or party) to have this kind of IDENTIFICATOR in future (even automatically attached) so people see that it's fresh thing. However, it's going a bit out of hand when people don't add .prg files especially when it's a requirement here. I think that having on-fly adding of files is also kinda interesting because it get's more attention to the tune here like if it was just added after the compo. I think response to art/creation is a positive thing. Also the relase dates of the tunes (although anonymous) are correct this way.
Yep, I'm kinda professionally deformed because development of webs and related website conversion optimisation is more or less my everyday job but that doesn't have anything to do with self promotion. I simply want to all activities work better, if someone asked me to help organising/promoting their C64 activity I'm keen on doing it especially when it boosts creativity. I like SID compos because I'm totally into C64 music. Yesterday I've heard preview of a tune that should appear in this compo and I literally shivered and bursted into tears in the final part of the tune. I love this, really.
Last but not least. CSDB and c64.sk cooperate since late 2001 and I think it is mutually fruitful cooperation.

I think csdb should be for the scene and not the scene for csdb. |

@all
i posted the sids because i was interested in the compo and help out at csdb, to get a discussion going on about the pre-releases was also fun reading. i know prgs will be added later, so that i dont worry about, it's sure nothing to start a argument over. i agree with CreaMD the idea of "running" in the compo name is good. keep them compos coming, it's fun :)
@grue
i must remind you that sids plays on the mmc64, so not only emulator stuff.... |
