The introduction of IFFL? (Handle id #1863 : The Syndicate)
Quote:Actually, "The Syndicate" released one of the first file-sequence-linkers called "MFL" in 1989, which used the floppy-memory for working, together with Roy of "Dynamix". Lateron, In 1990, other people called it "IFFL" and proudly presented 'their' invention...
Interesting claim, as in CSDb the oldest program using the abbreviation "IFFL" is Dynamix IFFL Editor V3.0, done by Roy.
And that's version 3 already!
So whoever made the claim that others introduced IFFL, please bring forward some evidence. |

OMG likes to tell everyone that he came up with the IFFL name, and that G*P "invented" it :)
however, iffl like systems/loaders were used in original games LONG before anyone in the scene knew how to do it. |

Hmmm Snacky was meant to have developed IFFL (Interactive Flexible File Linking). Not sure what year, 1989 or 1990 perhaps.

the first "iffl" from snacky wasnt even a real iffl, but simply many files with their sektor links chained (so it didnt actually save space on disk). and as said, the same thing was used in originals years before :) |

What was the handle of the guy who effectively invented (or at least established) the word "screen dump" in here a few years ago? Did he ever return? I forgot who it was. |
