Bitmap editor on C64

Hi,

I'm looking for a good bitmap (standard hires mode) editor that runs on the C64. Main task would be to retouch single color, 320x200 graphics/logos converted from PC.

It should be able to save in "bitmap only" format, i.e. without color information.

Ideas?

On C64 there are:

Art Studio (not Advanced Art Studio)
Hi-Eddi
Doodle

and a few more.

Good old Art Studio (NOT Advanced Art Studio) is the best for hires.
Art Studio V1.1 [1986]
Although it saves the colors with the file it is very easy to use only the bitmap. (hiresdata is saved from $2000-$3f3f colors follow from $3f40 to $4328. so just ignore that bit)

Thanks everyone, very helpful!

I know Project One and like it, but I have an old version. Where can I find the latest? And can it save C64 hires without the need to go through a converter like GoDot?

Slixed also looks interesting.

I will surely look at the Art Studio, thanks for pointing out that it's different (for some reason better?) than Advanced Arts Studio.

For straight hires with full functions, I think Technoirs Interpaint V1.0 is wonderful. Other, not that common, alternatives you might try out are Grahams Hi-Pic Creator V1.0 and ofcourse my favorite of the bunch - Socis FunkPaint 0.39d (open the zip / d64 and choose (v0-39D Hi). Worth to mention is also Jak T Rips improvement of D'Arcs quite barebones Hires Editor V1.5.

Thank you, Twoflower! Interpaint - now that you mention it, I remember it! I had totally forgotten this nice program. Will also look at the others.

I remember JTR talking about D'Arc's Hires Editor, I know the program very well. Inside there is a message from D'Arc: "Don't even think of improving this editor! Make your own!", and JTR still improved it. :)
