Tunes youd like to see re created using Sid
Maybe there are some musicians walking around scratching theirs heads, wondering what tune to re create using the power of Sid
Some suggestions:
Swimming with Sharks - Theme
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XkKlHnVM9aI
The Howling - End Theme
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sx1ny_caZMU
Gremlins - Theme
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EqrytGO8S1g
The Gremlins theme as been covered already, but it wasnt all that great. Given the instruments, Tim Follin might have been the ideal musician for the job, during that period.

What about:
/MUSICIANS/D/DRAX/Gremlins.sid or /MUSICIANS/B/Bakewell_Dwayne/Gremlins.sid
/MUSICIANS/F/Feekzoid/Chase.sid or /MUSICIANS/A/Agemixer/Chase.sid
You can add Nantco Bakker to that list aswell.

a FULL version of the Top Gun anthem by Faltermeyer
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zCTJmXrgsFg
and of course "Dangerzone" by Kenny Loggins
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V8rZWw9HE7o
both done in Galway "leccy guitar" style obviously :)
although Hubbard "ace II" style would be "acceptable" :P
hell somebody should do these. even the bloody CPC has them.

Yeah, Rob's version of Do or Die (from Synth Sample III if I recall correctly) is legendary, but there needs to be a full version, Rob's is just a 15 seconds loop.

I will only cover/remix a special tune that has been a good part of my life, i mean that i "felt" for this tune ever since it was new and i want to upgrade it.
I would never port/cover/remix something i dont know.
It takes several years, to really truly know any tune, so that it becomes part of you, and only then, can the desire awaken, to upgrade it.
There's only 10+ sid makers that can do all those things that you want them to do.. properly, decently.
Unless there is added value, there is no creative soulfood for the composer, to make reproductions.
Im just telling you.
on youtube there are some tutorials that will make it easy for you to start handling SDI the music editor and get started. you can all do music, you just dont know, because you never tried, you never invested the time to learn something, you skipped class because "its too hard".
I know that anybody can learn to make their own music, because i teach kids to make music. not my own, but their own.
and you can do it too, if you want.
you can do all that you tryly want to do.
so that is my suggestion to you hopeless dreamers :)
www.youtube.com/sidwave
SDI tutorials (not how to make music, but how to use the program)
stop dreaming and do what you always dreamed about. |
