security of the database

recently i've noticed that somebody had changed the name of my account's creator. it's obviously created by me but there's 'zdzisek' set as the founder. if i click it to send a pm, it turns out that i send a message to myself thus only the name is changed. can anybody set it back to jammer? i suspect sql database break-in.

I wish I was that popular ;)

Nope Perff, don´t be 100% sure, that "Jammer" was actually created by this "zdzisek" in the first place! ;) It could VERY easily be Jammer himself, that did create himself back in Nov 2002, where he - obviously - got registered in CSDb.. The way Jammer explains this, I think Jammer was created in 2002, when he already was registered. But later in 2004(2004-01-30 12:57:57.426845+01) "zdzisek" somehow created Jammer again. Maybe this "zdzisek" was adding something for Jammer, and then created Jammer again by mistake, and then deleted the first Jammer...

Hmmm.. Actually that happened for my own Profile. When I was registered at CSDb in March 2002, I/Dishy was already created in here, but if you check my profile it says, that Dishy wasn´t created before 2002-12-31 by ME/Dishy. But in fact that is of course NOT the real date of creation, as I - obviously - was created by someone long before that very date, indeed.. The reason is because I´ve been changing somethings with my handles Fox/Dishy on that certain day, and somehow I´ve then deleted the first entry of Dishy.

BTW, can you check who created me back then? Now I became a little curious ;-)

That would explain this case.

*LOL*, Imagine it´s an old fan... Then I could probably use him as chairman (together with Crossfire:) for the fanclub of DISHY ;-)

This is actually something that got my attention once too. My FMan page says correctly "created by FMan", but the scener original page says:

Created by thomasj*

And I am 100 % sure I added me (Shumway) myself.

There is the possibility that you added yourself (shumway) at some point, but that there already existed an entry for that created by thomasj. These was then perhaps merged together, and the first one not created by you survived and the other removed.

I can't say that I can assure you 100%+ that CSDb was never hacked or anything (which I however beleve it never was), but I have never seen any evidence that it was.
