Videosystem-Information for all releases

Dear CSDb-staff,

though I'm more into legal stuff (demos for teh win;)) I really like the additional information given for cracks (Videosystem, first-release).

Maybe it's just me but I'd also like to have this Videosystem-information for the other release types, first of all for demos and intros. This would help to sort between PAL- and NTSC-scene-prods (or even those running on _both_ systems).

But maybe I'm the only one not knowing all US-groups by heart so just take this as a suggestion...

PAL/NTSC flags on all productions makes sense (except gfx I presume?), and I am thinking 6581/8580 flags too for demos and music etc.

Maybe a bit more detailed?

* Works as intended on both standards
* Made for X, runs too fast/slow on Y (just as one would expect from 50/60 Hz speed differences)
* Made for X, works on Y but with glitches (more severe than just speed differences): [...details...]
* Only works on X

(details would be useful in case something runs fine on old NTSC but not so well on new NTSC, if such prods exist)

I think it makes sense for everything executable. For graphics as well, because displayers for e.g. FLI are timing critical.

This has been suggested in the recent past on the staff forums ...

For the time you can select "C64 Crack" category, tick any boxes you want, and then switch back to the true category of the release and the data will be there once saved.

I would love to be able to search for all NTSC compatible demos, for example, but this currently doesn't seem to be possible. Am I missing something?

Is the database backend of csdb a MYSQL server? If so, such searches should be trivial to implement.

check c64pixels.com and see how MUCH it matters even for plain gfx modes due to the different aspect ratio.
i.e.
