I got inspired by this thread (ok, someone gave me the idea :) ), to make a little stat over sceners ages.
Check it out on the stat page under fun stuff:
http://noname.c64.org/csdb/funstuff/stat.php
The new one is called "Top 10 oldest sceners". By clicking (View all) you get a complete list. |

Thanx Perff! 8D
What I really liked seeing is that there are close to 200 sceners (fakes included) being born after the C64 got launched in 1982.
I have a hard feeling about seeing something similar on any other retro computer. ;) |

Maybe it should be possible to mark a scener as dead.
As it works now it shows that f.ex. Russell Lieblich is 52 years old when he infact unfortunately passed away last year at the age of 51. |

1978 was not a very good year for music. the funk was commercializing, punk has lost its impact a little, and hip hop hasn't even started. (all right, there were gems, from funkadelic for example, but less than usual. even the clash scored a sophomore slump.) to further prove the statement, i was born that year.

Hey,I love all those new songs!! ;)
Most liked are those with a classic sample and some braindead "fruity loops" boomboom!
Next comes the songs where everybody puts their throat-rehearsals on CD. (aaahaaaaeeehhwwhhuuhuuhhhh)

Venom... That's where I found the name "Powerdrive" for a demo. I recently read Chronos actually put a microphone in a box and started covering it with actual dirt to obtain the effects for "Buried Alive". That was another favourite of mine.
I still have some of their stuff on vinyl as well as AC/DC, Iron Maiden. Somewhere.

Had a tuneup lately ? :-D
I believe the correct term would be an "upgrade". My nipples now emit teargas when you squeeze my boobs, thus disabling drunk demosceners who want to check if they are real. My boyfriend has to wear a gasmask now, but he doesn't mind. (No, he is not TMR...and to try to rerail (that can't be a word, surely) this thread: my bf is 29.) |

Bar-ren, adjective. 1) not producing or incapable of producing offspring; sterile: a barren woman.
So you see...it's not a problem, really. |

In that case, i hereby proclaim my self the dumbass of the day and apologise for the dimwitted remark about the offspring. I hope you didnt take it to personal.

Hang on, gas masks get mentioned and my name crops up?! [Looks innocent!]
i just checked Perff's list and i'm number 353 on the oldest scener chart; 34 at present, 35 in under two weeks time and getting seriously depressed about it already. |

I dunno if Ive already posted here, but Im 33. Feel 80 though.
ps. Vanja, you sound like the bionic woman - when you run does everything suddenly turn slow-mo and a funny springing sound can be heard? :D Or, with the tear-gas, perhaps you are a fem-bot! :)

Not your fault, I shouldn't have said anything. I'm quite ok with it though...and would have been a crappy mom anyway.
"Finish coding that c64 demo for mummy before you play with your xbox1080 young man!!"
"But mooooom..."
"No buts mister! Get to work on that dycp!" |

Poor child, I wonder what FN would have said to those humanitary conditions. DYCPs for food! =)
