Spamlisted by someone in #c-64?
Hi.
So I visited #c-64.
Haven't been there in years. Out of boredom I went there using the xs4all web irc (and using another nick) which apparently is not appreciated by the channel superiors. So xmikex thinks I am some undercover troll, and finds out my isp & hostname and publishes it to the channel.
Ever since that my work inbox has been getting SHITLOAD of spam. In the several years of working here, this has not happened before. All kinds of shit is possible these days (and easy for the experienced), so there's no doubt some malicious asshole could find out the email and put it into spamlist. Since it started right after the irc incident, it's only slightly unlikely that these are unrelated.
I doubt it makes sense of asking "whodunnit" here and expect them to apologize and magically reverse what they did, but really, I thought the channel was more mature than this.
This is pretty much the biggest bullshit I've seen, or experienced personally, during the years in c64 scene. |

abaddon, I think it's hard to believe someone guessed your emailaddress by looking up an IP. Maybe check with your sysadmin if there was a spamrun against their mailservers first. These things happen all the time... |

Nick shouldn't matter, only the way you act. I wrote about 3 sentences within 2 hours. What happened is totally undeserved, unprovoked etc.
So yeah, if there's a true troll in the channel, we all know his nick.
I'm done with the place, just want the fucking spam to stop. |
