"The Police"
Found this while I was mirroring STORM's old site: https://geocities.restorativland.org/SiliconValley/Lakes/8808/
Anyone know anything about this group, were they a real group, did they have releases? |

They did add Police logos by D.H (SEB-Soft) (screenshots from CCS64) from around 1991 on their site (and was said to have been founded in 86). Seems to have been a German group. The site was managed by "Django". Site was created 20 June 1997, and stopped being updated in 1999.
Looks lame, but legit.
It's a good start to look around.

<- one of the *ahem* better *uhm* "logos"
overall, pretty much what hedning sez
site using a pre web 2.0 design... looks like my lousy first HTML crimes from around that time, i.e. late 90s
+ even when typing their German texts, they seemed not to know what they're doing, kinda cringe stuff
content: as far as i can tell from zigzag-clcking, they were mostly collecting and providing FTP link piles... personally I wouldn't expect much of a treasure to find there... |

What I was trying to figure out is if they were an actual group with some history in the scene or just someone who made a geocities page, and it sounds like the consensus is that no one's actually heard of them. |

This. Rather enthusiast(s) praising the wonder of FTP archives in 1990s than real scene. |
