agree to oswald here. after coma light 13 we felt kind of burned out.
i doubt, that we would have come up with something big on our own this
time. so the coop somehow kept us in business.
i think i can say, that also censor design would probably not have a
big demo without the cooperation this time.

and is it that much of an advantage to have a big team like this? i
mean... think of the communications with an 18 ppl team... with some
even living in different timezones. i think i have spent ~50% of my
time with chatting, sending e-mails and stuff like that, instead of
coming up with gfx.
having 18 ppl on board doesnt mean you are 6x as effective as a
3-man gang.
it also is much harder to come up with a proper design-concept, as
18 ppl have their own ideas which they would like to see in the demo.

waiting for x2016 and the winner demo from the coop-demo from booze, censor, oxyron, offence, shape, hoaxers, camelot, prosonix and fairlight =)

agree yazoo. there are some contras ofcourse, but all in all there are more pros to have a big team. and time changed, where you have svn but better organisation, project-management, where you just replace a gfx, type "make all" (hello groepaz :) ) and get new .d64 out of it.

Ah, the question of cooperation, for me tightly coupled with the question of multiple group membership...

I would rather see a two disk side Oxyron demo and a two disk side Censor demo than a four disk side Censor+Oxyron demo, because I like the competition between different groups.

Think of it as football, or some other sport: You might be friends with the players in the other teams, but you still face them as opponents on the field. Having just two or three super teams with players from all over the place might lead to a few excellent matches, but also to a boring league in the long run.

Well, on the one hand I can see the validity in some of argument against creating too powerful conglomerates, on the other hand I really, really dig the quality of those megareleases we have gotten lately... :)

this!

also limiting the compo to something like two disk sides and 10 minutes running time max would be a very good idea, IMHO. i have to admit that i dont like this trend of stuffing tons of anims and samples on several disk sides at all.

tbh i do agree with that limiting to 2 disksides. to keep up the competition as it should be, it probably needs clear rules. otherwise it will always be like this:

group xy has 4 disksides... ok, i am going to come up with 5 or i gonna lose the next time

you have my vote on that rule

I would add only one rule. (edit) Following rules: (edit) it is actually a single rule.. ok... The demo should end with "The End" screen. And if anyone gets the idea of having megagreetings, megascroller, mega-data-streamer-scroll from disk, or superduper realtime precalculated fractal megazoomer part (that runs 10 minutes), he should run that after "the end screen part" or hide it ;-)

...not that I have anything to preach to anyone (except of being nice to each other and stop downvoting your direct competitors, that is...)

edit:
heh... whats so wrong about our endpart taking taking 10 minutes? the only mistake in my opinion was, that it wasnt clear enough its the endpart. thats something i do agree to. other than that: you dont like to see 10 mins of greetings... pull the plug after 20 seconds :) easy...
