Assembler+Viewer
I'd like to see an assembler, like Turbo Assembler, that will display lines of code while previewing what's already coded while making demo pages. ...kind of a split screen thing. Is any one willing to try this little project? |

A charming idea, but... when you write crappy code, and the emulator running your code starts messing things up, how am it supposed to find its way back by itself when you correct your mistake?
Maybe if the emulator were to have sort of a fixed area of execution where you could loop your emulation inside.. Something like snapshot, run 1000 cycles, revert to snapshot, repeat... MAYBE that would be doable.. but it sounds like a bit too much work.

nativly on the c64 or cross-platform or emu+cross-platform assembler???
I use Kickass / VICE / UltraEdit / KickVICE.
With this you can set up 2 screen on your peecee where one is for coding and the other you can watch what happens when you push the magic button(s).

On second thought i wanna say: the more modern advanced help and tools you have, the more sloppy and lame coder you become :D |
