The 2005 Most Credited Scener List

2005 have passed and it's time we make some summaries. I give you the most credited 2005 scener list.

The list is based on the 673 releases that was released in 2005. This giving a total of 457 "active"-sceners.

So, how does it work ? For each release, every credited scener was given 1 point. I made no modifications to the list, ie. removing points on sceners that didnt really do anything active. Like for example myself and my +3 extra points for NSR.

Wow,that must have been one hell of a job!

Speaking for myself,my productivity jumped from 2 to 6 (7 with Arcane´s IDE64 fix of an old crack).
Not too bad I guess.
Almost back to my old releasing-standards. ;)

Actually not, libcurl and a bit of parsing. Only a madman would have done that by hand.. :)

I would like to add honorable mentions to:

Acidchild and CBA for being very kind in going through all of their old disks (a hundred or so) looking for requests. These two fellows are pretty quiet in the forums but do a lot behind the scenes.

Also, Zyron for his endless uploads of old releases that would still be lost in time if he hadn't found them.

Richard has come under fire for the quality of his games, and while they may not be the most challenging, I also have to salute him for his devotion to programming and releasing his work freely. He does all of his own work too... truly remarkable.

Finally, a big handshake to all of the NTSC crowd who remain at it, plugging away at demos and utilities and being quite supportive of one another. That is the spirit!

We all know all know who's contributing alot to the secene, and to this site and others, but you forgot to salute one true here Wanderer. Jazzcat. Why?

And stop licking ass, bitch!

Why can't this Bayliss (??) guy put on a decent copyprotection on his games that the few decent crackers out there got something to do?

AND STOP LICKING ASS, BITCH!

Unfortunately I was in edit mode adding David, for his Vandalism News which keeps us informed. When I went to submit it, I found that I was unable to as your self-created war had spilled over into this forum.

very interesting stats idea. should be considered an option for csdb.

and my plan of being credited in a lot of demos by sneaking my trojan horse into them seems to work out now. MUHAHAHAHAHAAAAR *strokes cat on his world domination chair*

Krill, yes your trojan horse must be in many demos. When is the timer set to destruct?

Wont this sort of list just promote people spamming releases on csdb?

"here's a sprite I drew"
"here's a nice sound effect I did"
"here's my 65th SEUCK for the week"

I like releases, thats why I posted this. I rather see 20 good demos than 5 great ones. I rather see active people than source hoggers/preview teasers.

But you nailed the most important point of them all. Will quantity turn in into less quality?

No, not as long as the scene can maintain abit of self cleansning. Not only comment, "its nice to see that you are active." which in the real meaning is "ok, that was crap and tihs is your 50th thing in the same style, evolve please!?"

I mean we havnt sunk into being a homebrew scene just yet have we?
