Underappreciated gems/Toot your own horn!
As suggested over on Back after 35 years, which "mega" demos will blow my socks off!! by Frostbyte -
"Lots of fantastic productions that, for whatever reason, went totally under the radar and have just one or two votes, thus not making it into any lists."
Post a link to any production that you think deserves more praise here.
Also feel free to shamelessly promote your own work. |

Strange Day. I loved it since day 1. It's like one of those productions where everything really works well together. The combo music-gfx-code, everything shouts 'Strange Day'. (if that makes any sense). Anyway, still hoping for a sequel (X'24? ;-) ) |

Supercool, most demos here I haven't even heard about! Thanks all for sharing the hidden gems. I'll use these to treat the post-X blues I'll inevitably have a week from now. :) |

A small contribution to this list: I've watched Triad's Lucy at least a few dozen times. Sublime soundtrack by Mitch & Dane and Twoflower, very simply yet effectively paired with the visuals. A fine example where sum is greater than the parts. One of those little (and perhaps little-known) feelgood prods one needs a dose of every now and then.

Some kind of dirty self-promo I suppose, but I think Doc Science deserves some props for the onefilers that he programs - cramming in lots of cool stuff while keeping a brisk pace!

As for onefilers (and tooting my own horn), the demo images in Transwarp V0.64 contain my faves. Some of them are probably underrated. =) |

Don't let the simplistic logo put you off, load up Wir sind die Nacht and turn it up LOUD. 8.5 seconds of 8KHz samples crammed into a 16KB intro, sequenced into a killer track based on one of Covenant's finest.

off-course, slightly off-topic but i used to watch this (Hunters Moon main screen) for hours. the music and the g/fx are SO cool. thats also how i had gotten into the "petscii-particle" stuff in flashbang. also read somewhere about how he came to create his rosetta algorythm. never understood it, though.
It is actually really sad, that the main game screen experience is seriously truncated in the remastered version, because it is interrupted by the gameplay demo and then the song just restarts. Weird decision. Or is that just in the easyflash rls?
Anyways, not sure if this is underrated, but i actually never saw something like that in a demo, or maybe i didn't watch enough of them. |

i always liked Technolo-G - particularly the music - but it does have one of those slightly annoying "play a game to advance the demo"-thingies that makes it a little tricky to watch. |

According to a post by gpz, the preview version does not have the game-like selector: Technolo-G (Preview) |

My favorite underrated gem has got to be H.T.R.A.T.F.Q.A.L.W.A and also one of the best demo names ever. Loved it back in 1989, love it still. |
